Faroe Maritime Services was ship broker on the BBC Charters for “Operation Iceberg“. The two week expedition which departed from Ilulissat, Greenland during late July, was carried out by world renowned scientists and well known TV presenters who observed and examined the Petermann Ice Island B-1 characteristics from many aspects.

Many factors held up initial progress including, poor sea conditions, fog and the resident polar bear poulation. The BBC reported that the expedition was a huge success despite the many difficulties encountered. The Producer commented on how fantastic the Captain and entire crew were and how pleasant the ship was to both live and work on.

The documentary, which is in two parts (Glacier and Iceberg) will first be transmitted on BBC2 on October 30th (Glacier) and November 1st ( Iceberg) .
